A source of proteins
Family Scombridae
Bonito (Thunnus), such as tuna, differs mainly by its pectoral fin length which are longer. Furthermore, bonito also is darker on both sides of the dorsal oblique stripes. And although we call bonito to the one who is captured in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and in the Mediterranean sea, we call bonito del norte the one who is captured in the north of Spain, in the Cantabric sea, with a hook, so the fish doesn’t suffer and its meat tastes better.
Bonito’s meat has a high fat level. Its fat is rich in omega 3, essential to prevent cardiovascular disease. In addition, it is also rich in B vitamins.
