Cephalopod, Specialties

The special dish with eight arms

Octopodidae’s family

The octopus (Octopoda) is one of the most peculiar marine animals. It is an invertebrate mollusk with a soft body. So it doesn’t have spines and it’s protected by a shell. It feeds with some fish and crustaceans but sometimes it also eats algae.

Perhaps, most shocking about this animal are his eight octopus arms, with dozens of suckers. In addition, the octopus has three hearts and it’s able to change its shape and color to hide from predators. Octopuses are very intelligent and with a high learning ability due to its high animal nervous system development.

There are endless dishes where octopus is involved. However, the Galician octopus has become the most popular dish of this special product.
